Mediterranean Style Wedding - Emily and Sam at Rex Smeal Park and The Sugar Wharf

For Emily and Sam’s special day we were tasked with bringing a Mediterranean Vibe to tropical Port Douglas. It was a fabulous brief with masses of Olive Foliage, fresh Lemons and stunning pastel blooms. Emily and Sam have spent a lot of time in the Mediterranean with their work and wanted to share this relaxed and elegant coastal style with their guests.

Emily’s bouquet was created in our signature Garden Style, featuring classic white roses, mini roses, lisianthus, and carnations with fresh olive and magnolia foliage. To tie in with the couples nautical roots, we added some small rope details to the bouquet binding and buttonholes (yep, lots of googling “how to tie boating knots”).

The Ceremony was held at the iconic Rex Smeal Park and here we wanted to create a Mediterranean Garden feel, with masses of pretty pastel blooms and that amazing Olive and Magnolia foliage.

On the classic arch structure, we constructed a large feature arrangement filled with roses, dahlias, tulips, lisianthus and branches dripping with lemons. The look was completed with aisle flowers placed by the chairs, continuing the garden look.

The Sugar Wharf reception featured large hanging installations suspended from the ceiling above the guest and bridal tables. The timber trestle tables were lined with large, long centerpieces filled with mixed blooms and lemons. At the entrance of the venue, a stunning large Urn arrangement with olive foliage, mixed blooms, and lemon branches welcomed guests. The reception area then included small floral and citrus arrangements, adding tiny pops of color throughout.
