I am a huge flower lover, obviously or else I am totally in the wrong job, so I have a big problem with the under utilisation of Flowers at weddings and events. It totally breaks my heart to see beautiful flowers be chucked away at the end of an event. Hence, I've made it my mission to maximise the floral joy for my clients on their special day.
Whether you're planning to say "I do" in Cairns, Palm Cove, Port Douglas or the Atherton Tablelands, I believe that repurposing your Ceremony florals into features at the Reception is the simplest way to get more enjoyment (and lets be honest, value) out of your display on the day. Navigating factors like design, size, flower selection, and the distance between the ceremony and reception venues can be a puzzle. Yet, there's always a solution for every situation.
My go to for repurposing Ceremony Flowers is to create a welcome feature with the blooms by your Reception entrance, Welcome Sign or Seating Chart. Most ceremony floral displays seamlessly transition into these high-impact locations, ensuring a lasting impression.
Another fantastic option is transforming your ceremony flowers into a fabulous bar feature. Depending on the original design, they can be artfully placed beside, on or suspended over the bar, especially effective if the ceremony floral arrangement was an arch spray and your bar has suitable tie points.
For an added touch of elegance, consider positioning repurposed ceremony flowers as a focal point in front of the bridal table. Aisle flowers or floor circles from the ceremony can easily transition to this key area. Pillar arrangements work beautifully on either side of the bridal table, creating a visually stunning backdrop for the newlyweds.
So much does really depend on the original design created for the Ceremony and the flowers can only be used again at the Reception in a similar orientation, but usually we can find a location that will work. Another thing to be mindful of is timing…. We do need adequate time between your guest leaving the Ceremony and before they arrive at the Reception, 30 mins is heaps for most designs, maybe a little more for larger designs. If you do have a large Ceremony design, we can even design this to be split so that you can place it in 2 (or sometimes more) places around the Reception.
In the world of weddings, where every detail matters, repurposing wedding ceremony flowers is a practical way of getting the most out of your amazing flowers, ensuring you are able to enjoy them all day and night.
Still want more out of your flowers…. Well we can pack them down the next day (or sometimes that night) and redesign any blooms that are still looking great, into smaller displays you and your guests can take home to enjoy for the rest of the week. This doesn’t always work out as sometimes there aren’t enough quality flowers remaining the next day, but when it is possible, we always try to do this. Also if you plan on jetting off after your wedding, we can deliver these flowers to our local hospitals and aged care facilities, to spread that flowery love around and brighten someone else’s day.
